Laurel Burch has been a phenomenon since she began making jewelry by hand and selling it on the streets of San Fransisco when she was only 19.  Over the next forty years, she became an internationally known artist and designer with an instantly recognizable palette and style.  Her vivid and vibrantly coloured images are whimsical creations - beautifully rendered artifacts from a mythical world of her own imagination.  Art that is timeless, joyful, and uplifting, the passion of Laurel's life wa to emphasize our connections with the earth and all living things.

 

Although Laurel Burch is no longer with us since her death in 2007 from the rare bone disease, osteopetrosis, her legacy lives on.  Laurel surrounded herself with uplifting beauty, colour and originality while maintaining a prolific work ethic.  Laurel has left us a heritage of brightly coloured and distinctive feline images that are seen worldwide on a variety of very popular items including handbags, scarves, umbrellas, and mugs.
